VILLAGE OF RIVERWOODS NOTICE OF HEARING
The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Riverwoods will hold a public hearing on April 21, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. in the Riverwoods Village Hall, 300 Portwine Road, Riverwoods, Illinois.
At the hearing, the corporate authorities will receive testimony in regard to the execution of a proposed annexation agreement being considered pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/11-15.1-1 (the âAnnexation Agreementâ). The Annexation Agreement concerns the annexation of certain territory legally described in Exhibit A below (the âPropertyâ) into the Village of Riverwoods. An accurate map of the Property and the proposed Annexation Agreement are on file with the Village Clerk.
The Property contains approximately 6.369 acres and is located on the east side of Milwaukee Avenue, at the intersection of Inverrary Lane with Milwaukee Avenue. The Property, known as Sale Barn Square, is currently improved with multiple buildings, with addresses at 20457 Milwaukee Avenue, 20477 Milwaukee Avenue, 20537 Milwaukee Avenue, 20553 Milwaukee Avenue and 971 North Milwaukee Avenue, in unincorporated Lake County, Illinois. The Property is identified by the following property index numbers: 15-35-300-164; 15-35-300-162; 15-35-100-108; 15-35-100-119; and 15-35-100-120.
The Village of Riverwoods proposes to enter into the Annexation Agreement with QuikTrip Corporation, an Oklahoma corporation, which is a contract purchaser of the Property, and with Chicago Title Land Trust Company d/b/a The Land Trust Company, as Successor Trustee to First Midwest Bank under Trust Agreement dated October 2, 2015 and known as Trust Number LT549, which is the owner of record of the Property.
Under the Annexation Agreement, the Property would be zoned to the B-1 Neighborhood Business District and granted a special use for a mixed use planned development, which includes an automobile service station and convenience store.
The proposed Annexation Agreement may be changed, altered, modified, amended or redrafted in its entirety after the public hearing. At any time after the public hearing, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Riverwoods may pass an ordinance authorizing the execution of the Annexation Agreement as presented or as amended.
