Public Information Meeting Offer for
Villa Avenue over Sugar Creek
The Village of Villa Park is proposing to improve Villa Avenue in a spot improvement at the 3-cell box culvert carrying Villa Avenue over Sugar Creek, between Julia Drive and Terry Lane, in Villa Park (Section No. 21-00099-00-BR). The project will consist of the replacement of the top slab of the 3-cell box culvert on Villa Avenue over Sugar Creek. The project will include the short-term closure and detour of Villa Avenue at the culvert during construction. A Project Development Report has been prepared for this project.
Any interested person who desires that a Public Information Meeting should be held for this project may request a Public Information Meeting be held by contacting Kevin Mantels at engineering@invillapark.com, 630-834-8505, or 11 W. Home Avenue, Villa Park, IL 60181. To be considered, requests must be received by January 30th, 2026. A Public Information Meeting will be held if the public demonstrates sufficient interest.
This is a federally-funded project, and this Public Information Meeting is being offered as part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements and in accordance with the Illinois Department of Transportation’s public involvement policy.
The proposed project will require construction in a floodplain. Pursuant to EO 11988, as amended by EO 13690, public review and comment on this proposal and its alternatives are hereby requested.
Maps, drawings, aerial photography, the Project Development Report and project related information are available for viewing and inspection by the public are held by the Village of Villa Park at the above address. If additional information is desired, contact Kevin Mantels at the information above.
