INVITATION FOR BIDS
Sealed bids for the CEDAR LAKE AND HAWTHORN WATER MAIN CONNECTION for the Village of Round Lake Beach, as described below, will be received at the office of Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc., located at 625 Forest Edge Drive, Vernon Hills, Illinois 60061, (847) 478-9700 until 10:00 A.M., local time, Thursday, May 28, 2026, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Sealed envelopes are to be marked “Sealed Bids for CEDAR LAKE AND HAWTHORNE WATER MAIN CONNECTION - Village of Round Lake Beach”.
Bid Documents may be obtained, starting at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, electronically through QuestCDN, accessible via https://qcpi.questcdn.com/cdn/posting/?projType=all&provider=5423359&group=5423359. A $30 non-refundable deposit is required to download electronic documents for this project. Hard copies of the Bid Documents are not available.
State of Illinois, Department of Transportation, Contractor Pre-Qualification and Subcontractor Pre-Qualification/Registration is required.
This project will include, but is not limited to, the following major work items: Installation of water main, pavement patching, curb and sidewalk replacement and earth restoration.
This work is subject to the wage provisions of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. 820 ILCS 130/0/01 et seq. and the Illinois Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Projects Act. 820 ILCS 265/1 et seq relative to prevailing wages of laborers, mechanics, and other workers employed in any Public Works as amended by Public Acts 86799 and 86693.
Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, Bank Cashier's Check, or Certified Check in the amount of FIVE (5) percent of the total bid amount, made payable to the Village of Round Lake Beach shall accompany the bid.
The Village reserves the right to reject any and all bids and bidders and to waive all technicalities. This project includes two bid schedules, one base bid and one alternate bid; all bidder’s shall complete both schedules. The Village reserves the right to award any combination of the bid schedules. Factors other than price which will be considered in awarding or rejecting bids shall include the results of reference contacts, and the quality of the bidder’s performance on prior Village projects, if any, in the judgment of the Village Board and Village staff. All bids submitted shall be valid for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days.
