NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed proposals for the improvement described below will be received at the office of the Village of Gurnee, Engineering Division, 325 N. OâPlaine Road, Gurnee, Illinois 60031, until 10:00 A.M., July 13th, 2026. Proposals will be opened and read publicly at that time.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
âIL 21 & GAGES LAKES ROAD PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTâ
Project # 8454
LOCATIONS:
⢠Route 21 & Gages Lake Road Intersection
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT:
Scope of work includes installation of approximately 600 lineal feet of 5-foot-wide sidewalk, drainage improvements, installation of pedestrian crosswalk striping, pedestrian signal modifications, traffic signal improvements, pavement markings, ADA-compliant curb ramps, earth excavation, aggregate base course, and all necessary restoration.
BIDDERS INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Construction bidding documents, including drawings, specifications, and addenda, will be distributed via the Village of Gurnee's FTP site, LiquidFile, at no cost to bidders upon request. Official notifications and addenda will be distributed electronically by the Village. Please email engineering@village.gurnee.il.us for project documents. Hard copies may be requested from the Village of Gurnee, 325 N. O'Plaine Road, Gurnee, Illinois 60031, for a non-refundable fee of $25.00.
2. The Contractor must abide by the articles included in the Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130).
3. The awarding authority reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals as provided in Check Sheet LRS 6 of the âSupplemental Specifications and Recurring Special Provisions,â prepared by the Department of Transportation. The contractor is not required to provide a guarantee in accordance with Sheet LRS 6.
4. The Contractor shall be responsible for completing all applicable permits required by IDOT, including the $55,000 Individual Highway Permit Bond. Please see IDOTâs permit letter. All Permits costs are incidental to the project.
