The Village of Arlington Heights
Has Scheduled A
Public Information Meeting
For the
Windsor Drive Road Diet Project
The Village of Arlington Heights continues to advance the Windsor Drive Road Diet Project which includes resurfacing of Windsor Drive, pedestrian enhancements, and implementation of on-street bicycle lanes along portions of the corridor. The project was previously presented for public feedback at a Public Information Meeting in November 2023 during preliminary engineering. Public feedback received was considered and responses to comments were provided prior to presentation to the Village Board in March and August of 2024. The Village Board approved the proposed improvements as presented in August 2024.
As the project has continued into detailed design engineering, the proposed improvement has been modified to include an extension of the bike lanes to Suffield Drive, extension of the sidewalk widening to Hintz Road, relocation of the pedestrian refuge crossing, Rosehill Drive crosswalk updates, and watermain improvements. Due to the scope of these modifications, the Village is hosting a Public Information Meeting to present updates to the public for comment. The details of the meeting are as follows:
Location: Village of Arlington Heights
Beuchner Room
33 S. Arlington Heights Rd
Arlington Heights, IL 60005
Date: August 5, 2026
Time: 4:00 P.M. â" 6:00 P.M.
The in-person Public Information Meeting will be conducted in an informal, open house format. Feel free to attend the meeting at any time between 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. The Village of Arlington Heights and consultant representatives will be present to discuss the project and to answer questions on an individual basis.
Written comments will be accepted during the meeting as well as after the meeting. All comments received by August 20, 2026 will become part of the Public Information Meeting record. The Village has received Federal Surface Transportation Program-Urban (STP-L), Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) and Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP-L) funds for the project.
