Public notice is hereby given to all persons concerned that on the 4th of August, 2026 A.D. at seven o’clock (7:00 P.M.) Central Time, in the evening of said day, a public hearing will be held at the Kane County Government Center, Bldg. A, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Geneva, IL, to consider certain Text Amendments to the Kane County Zoning Ordinance regarding Commercial Solar Energy Facilities and Energy Storage Systems.
These text amendments will bring the Kane County Zoning Ordinance into compliance with 55 ILCS 5/5-12020 and 55 ILCS 5/5-12024 as amended by Illinois Public Act Public Act 104-0458, which refines permit fees, review timelines, mandatory approval criteria, and other requirements governing commercial solar and battery storage facilities in Illinois, and mandates Counties to adopt amendments by September 29, 2026.
All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing to ask questions and/or to present testimony for or against the petition. Persons unable to participate at the hearing in-person may request permission to attend the meeting remotely via Zoom by contacting Natalie Zine at zinenatalie@kanecountyil.gov.
