PUBLIC NOTICE
Public notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., at City Hall in the City Council Chambers, 3600 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows, Illinois, the Rolling Meadows Planning and Zoning Commission will conduct public hearings to consider the following petitions by the City of Rolling Meadows (âPetitionerâ) that propose to amend the text of the Cityâs Zoning Regulations:
Walls, Fences, and Screens. The hearing will consider amending the Zoning Regulations to modify the standards governing the location, height, and materials of walls, fences, and screens. The amendments may vary these requirements based on the property's location, zoning classification, and use. The hearing may result in amendments to, without limitation, Sections 122-42 ("Definitions"), 122-73 ("Walls, fences, and screens"), 122-74 ("Location"), and 122-78 ("Accessory uses and structures").
Zoning District Classifications. The hearing will consider amending the Zoning Regulations concerning the zoning classification of property upon annexation into the City. The amendments may provide for automatic zoning of annexed property to a classification other than the most restrictive residential classification, establish a new process and standards for setting the initial zoning classification of annexed property, or both. The hearing may result in amendments to, without limitation, Sections 122-10 ("Zoning District Classifications"), 122-11 (new), and 122-394 ("Amendments").
In addition to any listed Section of the Zoning Regulations, this hearing may also result in any other modification to the Zoning Regulations that is necessary or desirable to effect the amendments described above.
Interested persons are invited to attend the Public Hearing, and will be given an opportunity to be heard. A copy of the agenda and supporting materials will be available no later than the Friday before the scheduled meeting date at the Cityâs website, www.cityrm.org and at City Hall.
