Notice of Surplus Property and Request for Bids

Notice is hereby given that the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Grayslake, Illinois (the âVillageâ), have adopted Ordinance No. 2025-0-33, declaring a 0.18-acre Village-owned parcel of land located at 0 W. IL Route 120, Grayslake, IL (PIN 07-31-100-039) and legally described as:
The Westerly 10.0 feet of that part of the East 801 feet of that part of Lot 2 of the Northwest Quarter of Section 31, Township 45 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, which lies south of the center line of Plank Road (now State Route Number 120), (except that part described as follows: Beginning at the center line of State Route Number 120 and the East line of the East 801 feet of that part of Lot 2, aforesaid; thence South along the East line of said East 801 feet, 744.71 feet to a point; thence West at right angles to the last described line, 300 feet; thence North parallel with the East line of said East 801 feet 707.23 feet to the center line of State Route Number 120; thence Northeasterly 302.34 feet, more or less, to the place of beginning) in Lake County, Illinois,
(the âPropertyâ) as surplus, and authorizing the sale thereof in accordance with 65 ILCS 5/11-76-1 et seq., and subject to the condition (the âSale Conditionâ) that any bid for the purchase of the Property further provide for the Property being incorporated into the development of adjoining land commonly identified as PIN 07-31-100-020 (the âAdjacent Landâ).
The Village shall accept bids for purchase of the Property in accordance with the Sale Condition until 12:00 noon CDT on August 5, 2025, and the corporate authorities of the Village shall open all bids timely received at their regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. CDT on August 5, 2025. The corporate authorities shall accept the highest responsive and responsible bid; the Village has already received and accepted a responsive back-up bid for the Property as provided for in Ordinance No. 2025-0-33, in the event that no other responsive bid is received that exceeds such back-up bid.
