NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given to all persons concerned that on the 3rd day of June, 2026, at 7:00p.m., the Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Batavia will meet and a Public Hearing will be held in the City Council Chambers at the City of Batavia Government Center, 100 North Island Avenue, Batavia, Illinois 60510. The Public Hearing will be held pursuant to Chapter 5.2 and 5.7 of the Batavia Zoning Code (City Code Title 10) to consider an Amendment to the Official Zoning Map for the properties commonly known as 921 & 934 Carlisle Road (PINs: 12-28-230-028 & 12-28-226-010), 980 and 981 Danforth Drive (PINs: 12-28-227-008 & 12-28-227-017), 858, 868, 878, 888 Brown Court (PINs:12-28-227-012, 12-28-226-018, 12-28-227-016, 12-28-226-019), 910 Garfield Avenue (PIN: 12-21-479-034)
and the adjoining portions of Hoover Lane and Danforth Drive Street rights of way.
The applicant for said amendments is the City of Batavia, 100 N Island Ave, Batavia, IL 60510.
The City of Batavia proposes to amend the Zoning Map designation for the properties listed above from R0, Single Family Residential District to R1-L, Single Family Low Density Residential District. The zoning change is intended to place the properties in a zoning district consistent with surrounding properties and their current use for single-family residences.
The meeting’s agenda and packet will be posted a minimum of 72 hours before the meeting at: www.bataviail.gov/agendacenter Public comments may also be emailed to Drew Rackow, Planning and Zoning Officer at drackow@bataviail.gov prior to 5:00 PM the date of meeting for entry into the hearing public record.
Information regarding the proposed amendments is available for review at the Community Development Department in the City of Batavia Municipal Building during normal business hours. You may also contact the Community Development Department at 630-454-2700.
