NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Village of Glen Ellyn (“Village”) Plan Commission will conduct a public hearing on July 24, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Galligan Board Room, Glen Ellyn Civic Center, 535 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, Illinois 60137 on the application of Trader Joe’s (“Petitioner”), regarding the property located at 680 Roosevelt Road, Glen Ellyn, Illinois 60137 (“Subject Property”), for the issuance of a Special Use Permit as set forth in Section 10-10-14 in the Village’s Zoning Code. The Subject Property is zoned C3 Service Commercial and within a shopping center on a lot of approximately 4.23 acres, located north of Roosevelt Road between Park Boulevard and Nicoll Avenue, in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
The Petitioner seeks a Special Use Permit as required for the C3 Service Commercial zoning district by Village Code:
1. An outdoor storage area at the northeast corner of the Trader Joe’s at 680 Roosevelt Road. The proposed special use requests outdoor storage near an existing loading dock and canopy structure. Trader Joe’s plans to expand the canopy structure.
The Subject Property is legally described as follows:
LOTS 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16; Lots 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 (EXCEPT THOSE PORTIONS OF LOTS 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 TAKEN FOR HIGHWAY PURPOSES DESCRIBED IN CASE NO. 88ED094); LOTS 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, AND 28 IN BLOCK 6 AND LOTS 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, AND 16 IN BLOCK 7 IN ROOSEVELT GARDENS HOMESITES, BEING A SUBDIVISION IN THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 13 AND THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 14, TOWNSHIP 39 NORTH, RANGE 10, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF RECORDED MAY 5, 1921 AS DOCUMENT NO. 148152, IN DUPAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
