NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Village of Vernon Hills, Illinois will hold a Public Hearing at the Village Hall, 290 Evergreen Drive on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. to consider a petition filed by the Village of Vernon Hills requesting approval of the following amendments to Appendix C, Zoning, of the Village of Vernon Hills Code of Ordinances, related to various sections of the code: (1) definitions of business types not currently referenced in code, such as data centers, battery storage, and adult day services; (2) FAR limits in residential districts; (3) parking requirements for specific uses, such as car washes; and (4) adjustment of the size threshold for applicability of the non-retail conversion procedures for stand-alone buildings in the Core Retail Overlay District.

Summary of request: The purpose of the amendment is to modify requirements in various sections of the zoning code. The topics are described above. Each individual topic may result in amendments to multiple sections of the code.
