NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Legal Notice: Notice is hereby given that the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Village of Vernon Hills, Illinois will hold a Public Hearing at the Village Hall, 290 Evergreen Drive on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. to consider a petition filed by Bharathur LLC, dba Play N Thrive Club, contract lessee, requesting the following actions to facilitate the operation of an indoor sports complex at 450 Bunker Court: (1) Special Use approval for a recreational facility per Section 16.3, Special Uses in the BP District, and Article 18, Special Use Requirements); and (2) Variations from Section 19.6 (required parking).
Subject Property: 450 Bunker Court, Vernon Hills, zoned BP, Business Park (legal description on file with Clerk’s office).
Summary of request: The proposed indoor recreation facility would occupy 45,360 sq ft in the existing building at 450 Bunker Court. Play N Thrive plans to construct 16 badminton courts, 2 volleyball courts and 3 batting cages for cricket and baseball. The facility would serve individuals and teams through an online reservation system, but would also provide coaching and player development programs. The facility would allow 24/7 access to members. The petition also includes a request for a parking variation.
