NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Legal Notice: Notice is hereby given that the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Village of Vernon Hills, Illinois will hold a Public Hearing at the Village Hall, 290 Evergreen Drive on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. to consider a petition filed by Dance Religion Inc., contract lessee, requesting the following actions to facilitate the operation of a dance school at 700 Deerpath Drive, Unit B: (1) Special Use approval for a specialty school per Section 15.3, Special Uses in the ORD District, and Article 18, Special Use Requirements; and (2) a variation from Section 19.6 (required parking).
Subject Property: 700 N. Deerpath Drive Unit B, Vernon Hills, zoned ORD, Office Research and Development (legal description on file with Clerk’s office).
Summary of request: The proposed dance school would occupy 8,926 sq ft in the existing building at 700 N. Deerpath Drive (Unit B). The school would be relocating from 1302 S. Milwaukee Avenue. Dance Religion has an active enrollment of more than 120 students and is the largest and highest-rated dance studio in the Midwest.
