NOTICE OF HEARING
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
CITY OF ELGIN
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City of Elgin Planning and Zoning Commission will conduct a public hearing on the following zoning application:
No. 07-26
Wayside Cross Ministries, as applicant, and Wayside Cross Ministries Title Holding Co., as property owner, requesting approval of 1) a planned development as a conditional use that incorporates and amends Ordinance No. G109-06 and grants departures from the Elgin Municipal Code requirements for the building street yard setback, location of recreational playground equipment, and any other departures as may be necessary or desirable, and 2) conditional uses to expand the existing emergency shelter and to establish a transitional housing facility, all within the existing light-industrial building commonly referred to as 1730-1740 Berkley Street, more specifically identified by the Kane County Property Index Number 06-22-151-021.
The current application for the above-described development is available for review at the Community Development Department, 150 Dexter Court, Elgin, IL 60120 and online at:
www.cityofelgin.org/publichearings
Said application and the associated plans on file with the Community Development Department and online are subject to change during the administrative and city council review process.
The public hearing will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Second Floor, North Tower, Elgin Municipal Building, 150 Dexter Court, Elgin, IL 60120. At that time, any interested persons may appear in person, by writing, by agent or by attorney and present any testimony they may have pertaining to the granting or denying of this petition.
