ILEAP Accreditation On Site Assessment
The Roselle Police Department is pleased to announce details of the on site assessment for reaccreditation with ILEAP. The on-site assessment is scheduled for May 14th and 15th, 2026. During this time, trained assessors from peer agencies across the state will arrive to conduct inspections, file review and audits of the police department. These representatives from the Illinois Chiefs of Police Association will be examining the department to ensure the Roselle Police Department is qualified for the Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Programâs (ILEAP) professional status.
The Roselle Police Department was first awarded this honor in 2012.This assessment serves as a re-accreditation in the areas of Training, Operations, Personnel and Administration.
Chief Barreto and the accreditation team invite the public to voice their opinions, experiences, and other information with the accreditation team. On May 15th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, citizens may call in to 630-671-4010 to speak privately with the representatives from ILEAP. The assessment team wants to hear your experiences with the Roselle Police Department and whether the citizens feel the police department should be accredited.
Once the on-site visit is complete, the assessment teams confers, develops an on-site report, and meets at the Illinois Chiefs of Police Associationâs ILEAP Council meeting to discuss their findings. The Council then votes to determine if our agency has met the professional standards that form the esteemed title of accreditation.
When you call in to 630-671-4010, please tell them you would like to speak with the on site assessment team. They will transfer you to the team who will be working in a private area. Your opinions/concerns will be heard by the assessment team and forwarded to the Chief of Police.
