NOTICE OF BIDDING
Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received by the Board of Park Commissioners of the Glenview Park District, Glenview, Illinois for 2026 Shingle Roofs Replacement â" Glenview Park Center project in accordance with instructions to bidders and specifications.
The Glenview Park District hereby provides (10) day minimum public notice of a request for bids, from qualified contractors only, for the specified 2026 Shingle Roof Replacements â" Glenview Park Center project at the Glenview Park District, Park Center in Glenview, IL. TPO Flat Roofing, Shingle Roofing, Sheet Metal and Insulation Specialties are all required for this project. The scope of work includes (1) demolition and rebuilding of three (3) x approx. 500 SF metal-stud framed, metal sided and shingled âvent shedsâ to install new solidly adhered vapor barrier and attic insulation tied into existing flat vapor barrier and TPO Roofing and sidewalls; (2) tear-off of approx. 33,600 slope-adjusted SF of the existing 4:12 shingled roofs to expose the existing roof deck, repair and/or replacement of any damaged roof decking, installation of new plywood overlayment over existing and new shingle ice dam membrane and underlayment sheet; and installation of new 50-year fiberglass laminated asphalt shingles including starters, venting, and accessories; and including replacement of any associated metal copings, gutters, and downspouts, gable & eave nosings and fascia, counterflashings, soffits and closures; (3) exposure and sealing of existing metal attic deck seams and installation of additional blown-in insulation to achieve R-49 in attics, all according to specifications and drawings prepared by C. E. Crowley & Associates, Inc., Roofing/Building Envelope Consultants, of Mundelein, IL. All work will require a two-year contractor warranty in addition to manufacturer warranties for specified materials.
Bidding Contractors are required to attend a MANDATORY Pre-Proposal Walk-through on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 starting at 10:00 AM, after which access to the bidding will be closed. This Pre-Proposal meeting will be held at the Glenview Park District Park Center located at 2400 Chestnut Avenue in Glenview, Illinois to discuss the scope and requirements of this project then proceed immediately to each of the roof areas within the scope of work. All Requests for Information are due by NOON on March 31st, 2026 to C.E. Crowley & Associates, Inc.; responses will be provided by Wednesday, April 1st, 2026 at NOON. Bids are DUE and will be publicly opened at the Glenview Park District Administrative Offices, 1930 Prairie Street, Glenview, IL at 2:30 PM on Monday, April 6th, 2026. Bids received after this time will be returned unopened. The public opening is for information only and is not to be construed as acceptance or rejection ofany bid. Award to the successful bidder will be made within sixty (60) days.
Bidders are required to use the proposal form supplied with the specifications. All proposalsmust be enclosed in a sealed envelope and marked on the outside, âSEALED ROOF BID: 2026 Shingle Roof Replacements â" Glenview Park Centerâ
Contractor is responsible for all measurements and must personally inspect the site to verify the scope of the work to be bid. The Park District has determined that the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act applies to this work and therefore Contractor shall comply with the Illinois Prevailing WageAct and shall pay, and require every Subcontractor to pay, the prevailing rates of wages as established by the Illinois Department of Labor for each craft or type of work needed to execute the contract in accordance with 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq.
The successful bidder shall also comply with all laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, rulings, or enactments of any governmental authority which are applicable to the work or the project.
The Board of Park Commissioners of the Glenview Park District, Cook County, Illinois, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, and to accept the bids deemed to be in the best interests of the Glenview Park District.
