Notice is hereby given that Arlington Heights Park District, Cook County, IL, will receive sealed bids from interested trade contractors for 07A-2 Roofing work for Recreation Park â" Phase 2 and Recreation Park Community Building Renovation and New Pool & Bathhouse (Phase 3).

Bids will be publicly opened and read immediately following. Bids must be submitted in duplicate in a sealed envelope and labeled âArlington Heights Park District â" Recreation Park â" Phase 2 and Recreation Park Community Building Renovation and New Pool & Bathhouse (Phase 3)â, the Date and Time of the Bid Opening, the Contractorâs Name and Address, and their Trade Package. All Contractors shall use the bid day label provided with their Bid Form.
SCOPE OF WORK
The project involves work for Phase 2 and 3 at Recreation Park in Arlington Heights located at 500 & 501 E Miner Street, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
Phase 2 includes site work demolition, earthwork/mass grading, and infrastructure improvement for utility services. Also included is the installation of various site improvements including new parking lot, walkways, basketball courts, restroom building, new backstop sports netting, and improvements to the baseball field and amenities.
Phase 3 includes site work demolition, complete demolition of existing pools and locker room building, earthwork/mass grading, and infrastructure improvements. New construction includes additions and renovations to the Community Building and a new 9,850 SF Bathhouse. Also included is a new 50-meter lap pool, wading pool, deck areas, and associated site amenities and improvements.
INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS
Prospective bidders are to contact Kari Christensen at Lamp Incorporated (kchristensen@lampinc.net or 847-741-7220 x315) to be placed on the bid list. Bidders will then be granted access to SmartBid to download drawings for free. Lamp Incorporated will be utilizing SmartBid for the entire bidding process. All interested bidders must contact Lamp Incorporated to access the SmartBid Website.
All Contractors wishing to bid on this project must have a Lamp Incorporated Qualification Statement on file, updated within the last year. Contractorsâ qualification statements are due in Lamp Incorporatedâs office by 5:00 pm, Thursday, June 5, 2025.
A Bid Bond or Certified Check in the amount of 10% of the bid made out to Arlington Heights Park District is to accompany the Bid Form. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the bid amount, with sureties approved by the owner, and Certificate of Insurance within ten (10) days of the award of the contract. All Performance and Payment Bonds will be in accordance with the requirements stated in the AIA 232 General Conditions.
The successful bidder is required to pay Prevailing Wage for work under this Contract and shall submit certified payroll records in compliance with the Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). The Contractor(s) selected will also be required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, and executive orders, including but not limited to those pertaining to equal employment opportunities.
The Board of Commissioners of Arlington Heights Park District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or waive any bid irregularities.
The Arlington Heights Park District encourages minority business firms and Contractorâs complying with the Illinois Apprenticeship Initiative to submit bids on this project. The successful contract bidder is encouraged to utilize minority businesses and those complying with the Illinois Apprenticeship Initiative as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction.
This Project is Tax Exempt.
A Pre-Bid Meeting is currently not scheduled for this project and should not be required. Please email all questions to Tom McGrath (tmcgrath@lampinc.net) at Lamp Incorporated. If the bidding contractors feel it would be beneficial to have a Pre-Bid Meeting, it will be scheduled at a later date.
This project is being financed, in part, with funds from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, âOpen Space Land Acquisition & Developmentâ (OSLAD) grant program.
This project is being financed, in part, with funds from the State of Illinois, âPark and Recreation Facility Constructionâ (PARC) grant program.
Minority business firms are encouraged to submit bids on the approved project. The successful contract bidder is encouraged to utilize minority businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction.
