are found and deemed by the VILLAGE OF FOX LAKE, pursuant to Section 11-31-1(e) of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/11-31-1(e)) to be open and vacant and an immediate and continuing hazard to the Village of Fox Lake, Illinois and its residents.
As the owners of this building, you are responsible for remedying these conditions. If you do not demolish, repair, or enclose this building and remove all garbage and debris from, in and around the building within 30 days from the date of this Notice, the Village of Fox Lake shall be authorized and will take action to eliminate the hazard. You have the right to object to the Village proceeding with any action by filing a legal action in a court of competent jurisdiction. If you do not pursue your right to object or do not repair, demolish or enclose the building, the Village will proceed to demolish the building(s) and structure(s) on the above-described property 30 days after mailing of a notice to remediate, or 30 days after the last day of publication of this notice, whichever is later, if the building(s) and structure(s) are not demolished, repaired, or enclosed by that time. Should the Village take this action, a lien covering the cost of the action will be recorded against the property and the Village will seek recovery of its costs by foreclosing on the lien.
