LEGAL NOTICE
In accordance with the Illinois Compiled Statutes, Chapter 35, Act 200, Section 15-172(d), the Supervisor of Assessments for DuPage County, hereby notifies all DuPage County Property owners of the availability of the Low-Income Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption. To qualify for this exemption for the 2025 tax year, property owners must:
⢠be age 65 or older by December 31, 2025,
⢠have a total household income for 2024 of $65,000 or less,
⢠own and occupy the property on January 1st of 2024 and 2025, and
⢠be liable for payment of real estate taxes on the property.
Applications for this exemption should be filed by October 1, 2025, with the Supervisor of Assessments, 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton, IL 60187, phone number
630-407-5858. Please note that this program may prevent future increases in the assessed value under certain circumstances and does not freeze the amount of the actual real estate tax. Additional information and application forms are also available at: http://www.dupagecounty.gov/soa/
