Description of Work:
IL Route 31 improvements include the installation of new street lighting, ADA ramps, new sidewalk, and a block wall along the sidewalk along the east side of the roadway. Prairie Street is a roadway reconstruction with sidewalk, street lighting, and curb and gutter construction. The Center Street improvements include pavement resurfacing, sidewalk improvements, lighting installation, and curb bump outs. Additionally, brick repair maintenance along State Street is included in the scope of work.
The Village has determined that the work of this contract is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Accordingly, Contractor shall therefore comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and shall pay, and require every Subcontractor to pay, the prevailing rates of wages as established by the Illinois Department of Labor for each craft or type of work needed to execute the contract in accordance with 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. Contractor must comply with all applicable laws, including having the requisite policies prohibiting sexual harassment and implementing a substance abuse prevention program. Contractor must likewise ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
Plans and proposal forms will be available to prospective bidders by contacting Baxter & Woodman (815) 444-4455 (contact â€" Claire Brinkmann â€" cbrinkmann@baxterwoodman.com) for access information to BHFX where documents can be obtained upon a non-refundable payment of $90 (printed) or $45 (electronic download only).
