NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING
AN ANNEXATION AGREEMENT FOR THE
VILLAGE OF HAMPSHIRE, KANE AND
MCHENRY COUNTIES, ILLINOIS
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on February 5, 2026 at 7:00 P.M., at the Hampshire Village Hall, 234 S. State Street, Hampshire, IL 60140 in the boardroom, the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Hampshire, Illinois (the âVillageâ) will hold a public hearing to discuss and hear testimony about a proposed annexation agreement. The annexation agreement concerns the terms for annexing the property located at the address commonly known as 44W452 US Highway 20, Hampshire IL, which is approximately 14 acres and is legally described on Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein.
Currently, there is a wholesale construction material supply business, which includes an office building, an outside storage yard and a storage shed located at the subject property. It is proposed that the subject property be zoned to the M-3 industrial district to allow the continuation of the use in accordance with the terms of the annexation agreement. An accurate map of the subject property proposed to be annexed to the Village and the form of the proposed annexation agreement are on file with the Village Clerk. You are further notified that the proposed annexation agreement may be changed, amended or redrafted in its entirety after the public hearing.
All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing and will be given an opportunity to be heard. Members of the public can provide comments on the proposed annexation agreement by contacting the Village Clerk at kstuehler@hampshireil.org or 847-683-2181.
The public hearing and any anticipated approvals may be continued, delayed or stayed from time to time without further public notice.
