Gilbane Building Company, Construction Manager, for and acting on behalf of Board of Education of North Shore School District 112, is receiving lump sum proposal forms from interested contractors for the fencing scope associated with the Renovations of the Braeside Elementary School. The renovations of Braeside Elementary School consist of approximately 44,000 Square Feet of new MEPFP, equipment, and finishes. Work includes installation of a new elevator and shaft. On the exterior, work includes pavement maintenance/replacement, site repairs and site utility replacements. The existing roof is a combination of steep slope and low-slope roof systems which will be replaced along with all exterior window systems.

The bidding of this Project will be through Procore Bidding.
The bid documents will be distributed to interested bidders on or about Thursday, February 12, 2026. A Virtual Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, 11:00 a.m. local time via online Teams meeting. The last day for bidders’ questions will be Friday, February 20, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. The proposals will be due on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. local time via Procore Bidding.
Bidders are requested to prequalify with Gilbane Building Company. The prequalification application is to be completed online via Compass at https://compass-app.com/auth/register. Questions regarding the prequalification application procedure should be directed to Yvonda Royster at 312-614-3913 or yroyster@gilbaneco.com.
Bid Security in the form of a bid bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid is required from all Bidders. No other forms of Bid Security will be accepted. Guarantee Bonds in the form of a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid will be required from the awarded Bidder. The work will be done in accordance with the Contract Documents. “FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS INVITATION TO BID WILL RESULT IN THE DISQUALIFICATION OF THE BIDDER”.
This contract calls for the construction of a “public work,” within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. (“the Act”). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the “prevailing rate of wages” (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labor’s website at: https://www2.illinois.gov/idol/Laws-Rules/CONMED/Pages/Rates.aspx. All contractors and subcontractors rendering services under this contract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including but not limited to, all wage, notice and record keeping duties.
North Shore School District 112 and Gilbane Building Company reserve the right to reject any or all bids. All information submitted as part of this process shall be considered public information under the State Freedom of Information Act unless specifically disclosed on the applicable information by the Bidder. Challenges to such exemptions shall be defended solely by the Bidder. Bidders who are not pre-qualified in accordance with this Advertisement will have their bids returned unopened.

The successful bidder shall also comply with all laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, rulings, or enactments of any governmental authority which are applicable to the work or the project.
Bidders are required to use the proposal form supplied with the specifications. All proposals must be enclosed in a sealed envelope and marked on the outside, "SEALED BID: CONCRETE & ASPHALT PROJECTS 2026"
