The Village of Lombard is seeking a Facilities Technician in the Department of Public Works to perform general facility maintenance work and the repair and maintenance of Village buildings. A successful candidate will have experience with the following:

- Performing preventive maintenance on plumbing, heating and cooling apparatus, and electrical devices and fixtures
- Repairing and installing plumbing fixtures, heating and cooling apparatus, and electrical devices and fixtures
- Performing painting duties as needed
- Fabricating and finishing wood products
- Operating and maintaining shop and other power equipment
- Plowing, shoveling and removing snow during winter months and participates in the City's overall snow/de-icing operation
- Moves, rearranges and installing furniture systems
- Installing and finishing drywall, paneling and other masonry as needed
- Working with all levels of staff on related projects and duties as assigned
- Has an understanding or background in Life Safety Operations. (Fire Suppression Systems, Fire Detection Systems)
- Performing light custodial work
- Meeting room set-ups


This is not a custodial position, but janitorial work may occasionally be required.

Must be available for emergency and non-emergency situations outside normal business hours. The expected hours are 7:00 am to 5:30 pm Tuesday to Friday but are flexible.

Candidates must possess three to five years' experience in building maintenance operations. Candidates must possess a valid State of Illinois driver's license.

The Village of Lombard is accepting resumes for the position of Civil Engineer I in the Public Works Department. The Civil Engineer performs a variety of municipal engineering functions, including (but not limited to) overseeing maintenance and capital improvement programs for roadways, traffic signals, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities; reviewing development projects and permits; and addressing business and resident inquiries related to transportation and engineering matters. The Civil Engineer leads and participates in multi-disciplinary project teams and coordinates with other TED teams, City departments, and other agencies on local and regional projects. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

Duties:
- Conducting transportation studies pertaining to all modes of transportation, including the Village's roadway network and traffic signal system, neighborhood traffic and parking, transit, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities
- Managing maintenance and capital improvement projects through all phases from concept to completion, including budgeting, coordination with consulting engineers and in-house staff, design, review, approval, permitting, construction, inspection, and final close-out; and

Additional responsibilities include interacting with residents, property owners and businesses to address transportation and engineering-related concerns and providing support to various City boards and commissions.

Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related transportation field
- Three or more years' experience supporting civil engineering projects (related internship experience may also be considered)
- A valid State of Illinois Driver's License.
- Additional years of experience with municipal engineering projects are a plus.
- An Illinois Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred, but not required.

Desired candidates will possess strong analytical and communication skills and knowledge of project management principles. Also important to this position are computer skills, report preparation experience, and experience interacting with the public and/or with project stakeholders.
